HEARTWORM SEASON IS HERE!

Your dog and cat should already have started their heartworm preventative medication.  Call to day to pick up this important preventative!

For a limited time we will be offering a  free heartworm test with a well health detection blood profile.  Additionally, have your pet's heartworm test done and purchase 12 months of heartworm preventative along with a 6 pack of Frontline at the same visit, and your pet will receive a free goodie bag!

Heartworm infection is caused by a parasitic infection that can be fatal.  The parasite is a worm called Dirofilaria immitis, which makes its home in the circulatory system eventually reaching the heart.  Your pet can get heartworm infection if bitten by a mosquito carrying the parasite.

Heartworm infection can cause a number of serious symptoms, including difficulty breathing, coughing, sluggishness, vomiting (in cats) heart and lung damage and sudden death.

Heartworm infection is preventable, and all cats and dogs are at risk.  This includes indoor pets as well as outdoor pets.

The good new is there are several very effective, easy to administer preventatives and your veterinarian can discuss the benefits of each.  A year-round preventive program is most effective to keep your pets free of heartworm.
